Course Description
Dr. Omeed Saghafi discusses two ultrasound exams commonly used at the bedside in patient resuscitation. He first details the history, clinical utility, limitations, and anatomy relating to the eFAST exam used in trauma to detect intrapertioneal or pericardial bleeding, hemothorax, or pneumothorax. This is followed by a demonstration of the eFAST exam. He then discusses the use and limitation of the IVC ultrasound exam for volume status and guided resuscitation followed by a demonstration of the exam.
